One light gray liner, part 5359HG, for the cord and cable pass-throughs on SEBO's ESSENTIAL G uprights and on the 370 series. It is the single-unit version of the grommet the ESSENTIAL G4/G5 drawing places at item 3, in among the handle, the power supply cord and the switch — which is to say, in the part of the machine that gets moved most.
The liner holds the cable clear of the moulded rim it has to cross. Once it splits, hardens or falls away, the cable settles onto that rim, and the flexing that occurs every time the handle is raised or lowered pulls the jacket over the same fixed edge. Damage of that sort starts as a shiny band, progresses to a flattened section, and ends with braid or insulation showing, at which point the cable rather than the liner becomes the job.
Order a single when one pass-through has gone and the others are still supple and still gripping their panels. When the rubber has aged right across the machine, the ten-pack of the identical liner is listed under 5359HE. Either way, unplug at the wall before opening any panel carrying cable, and check the exposed run end to end while it is in front of you.
Fitting is a push-and-seat job: the liner compresses into the hole and the flange holds it against the panel, so a grommet that will not stay put is either the wrong size or going into a hole that has been enlarged by wear. The cable clamp listed at item 8 on the same drawing, part 5162, is the companion piece that takes strain off the run once it is through.
