The Hoover F8100 Platinum Steamer runs its electrical functions through a single circuit board, and part 280516001 is the replacement for it. The board sits inside the control housing and coordinates what the machine does when you work its controls.
When a board fails, the symptoms are rarely subtle. The F8100 stops responding, behaves unpredictably between passes, or cuts out mid-clean with no obvious cause. Before ordering, pull the cover and check that every wiring connector is fully seated, because a plug that has worked loose imitates board failure closely enough to fool most people.
This is the direct replacement for the F8100, so it goes back into the original position with the original connector layout and nothing else in the machine needs to change. Parts ship in two to five business days.
