Part 280518001 is the power control board for the Hoover F8100 Steamer. It is the board that handles switching power to the machine, distinct from the main control board, and it carries its own connector set on the electrical side of the housing.
A failed power control board usually announces itself at the switch: the F8100 will not turn on at all, cuts out partway through a job, or responds only intermittently when you press its controls. Those same symptoms come from a loose connector or a tired switch, so work through the simple things first and come down to the board last.
Fitment is the Hoover F8100. The replacement seats in the original mounting with matching connectors, so this is a like-for-like exchange rather than a rewire.
