Clean solution tank for the Hoover PowerDash, part 440012802. It fits the FH50700, FH50702, FH50703I and FH50710, and it holds the detergent solution the machine sprays onto the carpet.
Tanks fail slowly. A hairline crack near the base, a gasket that has taken a set, or a latch that no longer pulls the tank square against its seal each produce roughly the same symptom: a damp patch under the machine where it was parked, and a spray that fades before the tank reads empty because air is finding its way into the feed.
The replacement is moulded to the original dimensions and seats the way the original did. Fill to the marked line, seat it squarely, and check the seal for grit at every refill.
