The black cord assembly for the Kirby Generation series, part 192099. It is listed for the Generation 6 that gives it its name and for the Gen 3, G4 and G5 as well.
Cord assemblies come off these machines for two reasons. Either the outer jacket has been nicked by a door, a chair leg or the machine's own wheels and copper is showing, which is a job for today rather than the weekend; or the vacuum has started dropping out mid-stroke, which is a broken strand inside the sheath making and losing contact as the cord moves.
Fitted correctly, the replacement restores the full original reach and a solid connection at the machine end. Unplug first, and photograph the terminal positions before you disconnect anything.
