Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Product details
Kirby 196499S is the outer bag and grip latch fitted to the Generation 6, and the same part is listed for the G4, the G5 and the Sentria. It is the catch that secures the outer bag at the handle grip.
Latches break at the hook. Bag changes put the same small piece of plastic through the same flex several times a year, and the tip gradually rounds off until the catch skips instead of holding. From there it is a short step to the bag hanging loose against the handle, which is untidy and a good way to tear the bag itself.
This is a direct replacement for the original latch. Worth keeping a spare if the machine earns its living, where the bag comes off far more often than it does at home.
