This 10-pack of Kirby OEM rear bearing finger springs (Part #314990A) fits Kirby uprights from the 1CB and later. Each thrust spring applies axial preload that keeps the rear motor bearing seated firmly in its housing.
When these springs weaken or break, the rear bearing can float in its seat, which brings on motor noise, vibration, and premature bearing failure. Replacing the springs restores steady preload so the bearing stays put and the motor runs quiet.
