Kirby Rug Renovator Shampoo Tank Sponge - D50/2CB, Heritage I & II

This is the tank sponge filter for the Kirby Rug Renovator, part 307364G. It sits in the shampoo tank unit and filters the solution on its way out, keeping grit and dried residue away from the feed. The colour varies between production runs; the part itself is the same.

Sponge filters clog rather than tear. Dried shampoo stiffens the foam until solution can barely pass, and the attachment starts laying foam unevenly, heavy on one pass and dry on the next. A sponge that has gone hard and discoloured has stopped filtering and started restricting.

It fits the Kirby D50 and D80, the Classic I CR, Classic Omega 1CB and Classic III 2CB, the Tradition 3CB, Heritage I and Heritage II, and the Legend and Legend II. Rinse it under warm water and let it dry fully before refitting.
