The Rug Renovator is Kirby's carpet shampooing attachment, and this is the renovator tray from the Generation 3 kit, part 304701S. The tray is the base of the whole attachment: it mounts to the machine, holds the shampoo assembly and rides on the carpet as you work.
What usually ends a tray is a crack. Solution finds the split and runs out where it should not, the attachment sits at the wrong angle to the floor, or the latch points break and it will no longer stay mounted. None of that is repairable with any confidence once the plastic has aged.
This tray fits the Kirby Generation 3, the Ultimate G and the Diamond Edition. If you are rebuilding an older Rug Renovator kit, check the tray against yours first, because the tray differs between generations.
