This is the 30 foot black power cord with molded plug, part 58-5812-08, for the Oreck XL2600 and related upright vacuums. The long cord is part of how these machines are meant to be used: one outlet covers a large room, so the cleaning does not stop every few minutes to find a new socket.
Cords fail at their ends. Repeated wrapping around the handle hooks breaks strands where the cord leaves the machine, and yanking the plug from across a room damages it at the other. The signs are a vacuum that cuts out when the cord is moved or flexed, warmth at the plug, and any exposed conductor, which should take the machine out of service straight away.
It fits a wide run of Oreck uprights, including the U2510RH, U2630HHG, U3700HH, U3800HH, U4080H2R, U4180HHC and U4490HH.
