Product details

Inside the Oreck U2000RB2L-1 upright, part 430001343 does the job of a switch without ever touching one. A hall effect board reads the position of a magnet without ever touching it, and this one turns that reading into an electrical command for the machine. Nothing here wears down mechanically the way a contact switch does, but that also changes how it fails.

Sensor boards like this one produce odd, hard-to-pin-down symptoms. A machine can run for a stretch and then quit, or respond one minute and refuse the next. That pattern points to electronics rather than a worn part, so before swapping the board, cut power to the machine, disconnect and reseat the wiring plug, and check the wire itself for a nick or a green, corroded pin. Many boards get replaced for a fault that was actually a loose plug.

This board also covers the U2000R and the U2000RB-1. Before pulling the old board free, note exactly how it sits and how its wiring plug is oriented rather than trusting memory later; a photograph while everything is still mounted costs nothing.

Because a hall effect sensor responds to how close its magnet sits, position matters at reinstall. A board mounted even slightly out of place can shift the trigger point enough to bring the original symptom right back. Before buttoning the housing up again, run the machine through the actions that used to misbehave and confirm the response stays consistent every time, not just once.
