ProForce uprights drive the brush roll through a geared belt rather than a plain rubber loop, and part 104217 is the replacement. The teeth stop it slipping under load, but they also mean a worn belt is not always obvious by eye: the teeth round off gradually, so a belt can look intact and still skip under a heavy carpet load.
The symptoms are the familiar ones. A hot rubber smell after a few minutes of use, a brush roll that stalls when you push into thick pile, or carpet that is simply not being lifted the way it used to be. Check the belt at every bag change, and treat a burning smell as an immediate replacement rather than a note for next week.
It fits the ProTeam ProForce 1200XP and 1500XP, ProForce 1500 and 1500 HEPA, and the ProCare 15XP.
