Hair and grit are what kill a power nozzle brush roll, and the bearing gasket is the barrier between them and the bearing itself. Part R2443B is that gasket for the Rainbow D4 power nozzle.
When it wears thin or tears, debris packs into the bearing and the brush roll gives itself away quickly: a dry grinding as it turns, a roller that no longer spins freely when you flick it by hand, a wobble at one end, and a belt that starts wandering or burning because the roll is dragging. Left long enough the bearing seizes outright and the belt takes the punishment.
Change it during brush roll service. Pull the roller and clear the wrapped hair off the ends and out of the bearing pocket first — fitting a new gasket over debris that is already packed in defeats the point of it.
