SEBO Rear Bottom Plate, Com...

Product details
Turn an AUTOMATIC X2 or X5 cleaning head over and the rear bottom plate is the panel behind the brush opening, the one sliding across the floor every time the machine is pushed forward. SEBO draws it as item 135 and lists it under 5414GS in gray black, arriving with the parts shown at items 136 and 139 already in place.
Because those two smaller items travel with it, the repair is one order rather than three. The plate does a pair of jobs at once. It keeps the back of the head flat against the floor, and it closes the rear of the air path so suction is drawn through the brush opening and nowhere else. Once the plastic has worn thin, split across a mounting tab or lost its seal, the head begins to sit unevenly and air finds a way in behind the brush roll instead of under it. Pickup falls off across the full width of the machine even though motor, bag and filters are all sound.
Wear here is easy to judge by eye. Rest the plate on a flat surface and watch for a rocking edge, then run a fingernail over the tabs to check that none have sheared. Hard-floor use polishes the panel smooth; carpet work tends to crack it around the fixings. Either pattern calls for the same moulding.
