Part R14990K is the coupling kit for a Rainbow E series hose, in the snap-together style that assembles onto the hose end without screws.
Couplings are where hoses die. The cuff cracks around the collar, or the coupling works loose on the hose wall, and from then on air is being drawn in at the joint instead of at the tool. Suction drops off, the hose end feels sloppy in the machine port, and in bad cases the hose pulls free while you are cleaning.
Re-coupling a hose costs a great deal less than replacing one, and on an E series machine the hose body is usually still sound. Check which style yours uses before ordering, as the screw-type coupling is a separate kit and the two are not interchangeable. This one is listed for the Rexair Rainbow E2.
