This is the two-speed brushless motor for the Rexair-Rainbow E2 canister, sold as part R12612 and listed as replacing the earlier R11409 part number. It is built for 120V/240V operation and drives both speed settings on the E2 canister power unit.
A brushless motor fails differently than a brushed one: instead of worn carbon brushes, look for a motor that no longer holds one of the two speeds, runs rough or hums without spinning up, or draws power without producing airflow. Any of those point to the motor rather than the switch, since a brushless design has no brush contacts to wear down first.
Because this motor is tied to the E2's speed-control electronics, a motor that spins but will not respond to the speed switch may point to the control wiring rather than the motor itself. Check the switch and its connections before assuming the motor is at fault and ordering a replacement.
Confirm your canister is the 2-speed E2 before ordering, since single-speed Rainbow canister motors are a separate part and are not interchangeable with this brushless assembly. Installation on a canister motor of this type calls for a technician familiar with the wiring at the base.
