When the wand stops clicking home on a C3, the catch inside the handle has almost always given up rather than the tube. Part 6420GS renews that whole mechanism in one go, so the tired spring, the cracked button and the slider that stopped holding are all replaced together instead of one at a time across three orders.

SEBO shows the assembly at position 35 on the AIRBELT K parts diagram, where it is listed as the handle release button with its leaf spring. Mechanically it is a small stack: press the button, the slider moves, the lock clears the detent on the tube, and the leaf spring pushes everything back when you let go. Wear anywhere in that chain produces the same complaint. A wand that pulls apart on its own mid-clean means the lock is no longer seating; a wand that will not release at all means the slider or spring has seized; a button that has gone soft and stays pressed in means the spring has lost its set. Because it is supplied as a set, one order also fixes a catch that has merely been getting worse rather than one that has failed outright, and that is the better moment to do it.
