Type H is the designation that matters here. Shop-Vac uses a different letter for each bag pattern across its tank range, so a bag from a larger machine will not mount on a 5, 6 or 8 gallon side-inlet tank even where the media inside is the same, and the letter printed on the bag you are replacing is the quickest way to be certain of the match.

A high efficiency bag earns its keep on fine dust because ordinary bag paper passes a good deal of it straight through. Holding that dust in the bag instead keeps it out of the rest of the machine and out of the air in the room, which is the whole reason to fit one for a sanding job rather than reaching for a standard bag.
