This black swivel cuff is the end fitting for 1-1/2 inch crushproof vacuum hose, and it is listed against two commercial canister vacuums built around that hose size: the Clean Obsessed CO711 and the Perfect C105. It rotates freely where it attaches, so the hose itself does not twist as you work around furniture and up stairs. Perfect Fit Hoses sells it as part 397.
Hose ends take more abuse than the hose body. Every pull, drop and twist loads onto the cuff joint, and over years of use the swivel action can seize up or the molded plastic can crack at the crimp. Once that happens the hose either stops swiveling and starts kinking under load, or it loses its seal at the joint and airflow leaks off before it reaches the machine. A cuff that no longer turns smoothly, or one that is visibly cracked at the base, is due for replacement.

This is a cuff replacement rather than a complete hose assembly.
