2-Inch Plastic Pipe Hanger ...

Product details

This J-hook style hanger cradles 2-inch central vacuum tubing along joists and framing during a rough-in, holding the pipe level and supported between fittings instead of letting a long run sag on its own weight. Drop the pipe into the open hook and drive a single screw or nail through the mounting tab to lock it to wood framing, a job that takes seconds once the layout is marked.

Molded from plastic rather than stamped metal, it will not rust inside a wall cavity or crawl space over the years, and it does not tick the way a metal strap sometimes does as PVC expands slightly with temperature swings. That makes it a practical choice anywhere 2-inch pipe needs periodic backing, central vacuum lines included, and it holds up just as well in an unconditioned attic as it does behind a finished wall.

Even spacing along a horizontal run keeps the pipe from bowing between joists, which matters for more than looks, since a sagging section can pool debris at its low point instead of carrying it cleanly toward the power unit. A run left unsupported over too long a span is one of the more common causes of a slow, hard-to-diagnose airflow problem.

Order by the box for a full rough-in, since a typical whole-house layout uses a hanger every few feet along each branch line. A few spares on hand also cover any later change to the tubing path without a mid-project trip to the store.
