Hide-A-Hose builds its Ready Grip handle in more than one configuration, and part HS302193 is the plain one: direct connect to the hose, a bleeder valve for suction control, and no RF electronics. The RF versions carry their own numbers, HS302194 and HS302195, so if your system uses a wireless on and off at the handle, this is not the piece you want.
A bleeder valve controls suction by letting a measured amount of outside air into the airstream rather than by throttling the motor, so the power unit keeps running at full speed while the pull at the nozzle drops. That is what you open when a rug corner or a curtain hem starts climbing the tool. The valve is also the one moving part in the handle most likely to wear: a regulator stuck open leaves weak pickup that will not respond to the control, and one stuck closed gives full suction whatever you do with it.
This listing does not include a coupler. If your hose uses the newer mini cuff and your handle is an older style, the adapter between them is a separate part, HS502190, so check which cuff your hose carries before ordering either piece.
Compare the connection at the hose end against your current handle before you buy. A handle that looks similar but seats differently will not join securely, and forcing a mismatched fit tends to crack a housing rather than solve anything.
