This replacement stationary fan (Part #31340) is the fixed diffuser fan for the Ametek Lamb 116-392 motor used in Kirby Sentria vacuums. Working in tandem with the rotating fan, it directs airflow through the motor stages to build suction.
A cracked or worn stationary fan disrupts that staged airflow, so suction falls off and the motor can run louder than usual. Fitting a sound stationary fan restores full airflow and the suction the machine had when new.
