The NuTone 360W is the white full-door wall inlet from NuTone's 360 series, and the automatic part is the switching rather than the door. You pull the door down, push the hose in, and the system starts on its own the moment the hose seats, then shuts down when you pull it back out. Built-in low voltage terminals handle that, so no extra wiring is needed at the valve.
The cover snaps back closed instead of hanging open, which keeps the wall opening sealed against drafts and dust between uses. It is also what wears. The door is worked every time a hose goes in or comes out, and a hinge that has loosened or cracked leaves the inlet leaking air with no hose connected at all. At the power unit that reads as weaker suction across the whole system rather than at one wall.
NuTone lists the 360 as working with all of its central vacuum power units, and the inlet measures 3-3/4 inches wide by 3 inches high by 5/8 of an inch deep as installed. It mounts to a CF361 or CF361F bracket, or to a 395 or 396-3 rough-in kit, so check which of those sits behind your existing valve before ordering.
When replacing a valve rather than fitting a new one, compare the door style and the mounting pattern against what is in the wall now instead of going by color and shape. A close resemblance is not a match, and a valve forced into an opening it was not designed for usually damages the wall cutout along with the part.
