A replacement drive belt for the Bissell Total Floors Pet, part 2031730, measuring 12.8 mm wide by 487 mm around. It is the loop between the motor shaft and the brush roll on the 61C5 and the 52C2.
Belts on these machines fail from heat and stretch rather than from cuts. As the loop lengthens it grips less, the brush roll turns slower than it should, and carpet starts to look swept rather than cleaned. Jam the roll with a sock or a length of cord and the belt will glaze in seconds; that sharp burnt smell is the belt surrendering, not the motor.
Fit it with the brush roll cleared of tangled hair, and check that both roll ends spin freely before you close the plate. A new belt on a stiff roll will not last the week.
