This is the clean water tank for the Bissell SpotBot portable spot cleaner, part 1606552, in smokey grey. It fits the 33N8 and 78R5 SpotBot machines and the 1711 and 2114 units built on the same body.
The tank is a thin moulding that gets pulled off and refilled constantly, and it takes the knocks when the machine is carried by it. Hairline cracks around the mounting collar are the usual failure. The tank still holds water on the bench but drains itself once it is seated and under load, so you find a wet patch under the machine and a spray that dies halfway through a stain.
Fit the new tank, press it home until it clicks, and run a short cycle onto a rag to confirm the seal before going back to the carpet.
