This genuine Bissell dirt tank separator is the cyclonic component that lives inside the dust container of the PowerGlide Lift-Off UPTS upright vacuum. Its job is to spin incoming dirt, hair, and debris out of the airstream so heavy particles drop into the tank while clean air continues to the filter. A cracked, clogged, or worn separator lets debris carry through, clogging the filter prematurely and weakening suction — replacing it restores the vacuum's two-stage cyclonic action. Part #160-3430.
