This is the black main body housing for Bissell ProHeat Clearview PowerSteamer deep cleaners, part 2145010. It is the outer structural shell, the piece every internal component mounts to and the part that takes the hit when a machine goes down a flight of stairs the hard way.
A cracked housing is not a cosmetic problem. Once the shell is split, the mounting points inside no longer hold the pump, tanks and hose runs in true alignment, so parts rub where they should not, seals sit crooked and water finds its way somewhere it does not belong. Chips at the edge of a crack also keep spreading with every use.
It fits the 1698-5 and 1699 as well as the 1699-1, 1699-5, 1699-8, 1699-A, 7901, 7920, 8804 and 8910. Housings differ between series, so match the model number on your machine first, and move the internals across carefully during the swap.
