The Speedy Maid does its carpet work with a 13.5-inch brush roll turning under the nozzle, and this is the replacement roller for the Fuller Brush FB-SPDM, ordered as part B012-3000. It also fits the Fuller Brush 3414.

Bristles rarely fail all at once. They wear short, splay outward and pack solid with hair and carpet thread until the roller skates over the pile instead of digging into it. The motor still sounds strong, but a pass leaves lint and grit behind and the carpet stops looking groomed. A roller that rattles, drags at one end or squeals is telling you the same thing.

A new brush roll puts firm bristle contact back on the carpet. Check the belt while the roller is out: a glazed or stretched belt will not drive even a fresh roller at full speed, and the two wear together.
