Product details

Carpets that look untouched after a full pass usually trace back to a roller that has stopped agitating rather than a weak motor. Part 152584G is the 15 inch replacement roller built for Kirby's older upright generations, and it carries the belt-indicator magnet those machines rely on, so the belt indicator keeps reading correctly after the swap.

Rollers wear from the tips inward. Bristles bend, flatten and eventually stop making contact with the pile at all, while the motor keeps sounding exactly as it always did. A roller with a wobble or a low rumble as it spins usually has bearing wear layered on top of bristle wear, and at that stage swapping just the strip will not fix what the bearing surface has already lost.

  • Part: 152584G
  • Length: 15 in
  • Includes: belt indicator magnet
  • Fits: Kirby Legend II, Legend I, Heritage II (2HD), Heritage I (1HD)

Thread and pet hair wound tightly around either end of the roller mimic bearing failure, slowing the spin even while the bristles underneath are still serviceable, so clearing that buildup off is worth doing before assuming a roller needs to go in the trash. Once a replacement is seated, spin it by hand first and confirm it turns freely against the housing before switching the machine on. A roller that binds anywhere through a full turn is either seated wrong or fouled with debris that did not come out with the old one, and running it in that state puts the load straight onto the belt.
