Product details

Twelve-inch brush roll with hex ends, part 53272, for the Eureka 3420. The hex ends locate the roller in the nozzle and take the drive from the belt pulley, so it fits the original mounting without modification.

Bristles wear down long before the roller body does. The tell is a machine that needs several passes over the same patch of carpet, or one that leaves pet hair sitting in the pile after a slow pass — the bristles are no longer flicking the fibres. Hair and thread wound around the shaft speeds that wear along and loads the end bearings.

Take the bottom plate off, lift the old roller out, and seat the new one on its hex ends before refitting the belt. Check the belt at the same time; a stretched belt lets even a new roller turn too slowly to agitate properly.
