Brush Roll Seal and Eyelet ...

Product details
Oreck's brush roll rides on a seal and eyelet at each end of the roller, and that pairing does two jobs at once: it keeps the roller sitting true in the nozzle, and it keeps hair and grit out of the bearing behind it. Part 015-7728 is the genuine Oreck seal and eyelet assembly for the XL8300 and 100C uprights, and it is also listed for the Oreck 3640.
Hardened, flattened seals are easy to spot once the end cap is off. The brush roll shifts sideways, hair winds itself onto the exposed shaft, the belt starts running off-center, and the machine gets louder while grooming the carpet unevenly.
Fitting a fresh seal and eyelet puts the roller back on its intended axis, which quiets the nozzle and returns even agitation across the full brush width. Clear any wrapped hair from the shaft and look at the belt while you are in there.
