Product details
Part 2038429 is a carpet glider, a low-friction tray that snaps onto the underside of a PowerFresh steam mop head, letting the pad glide across carpet and rugs instead of staying limited to bare flooring. Fitted over the mop pad, it lifts the head just enough to keep the pad from catching in carpet fibers while heat and steam still pass down through it.
A missing or damaged glider changes how the mop handles almost immediately. Without it, the pad snags and drags across pile, turning a normally smooth pass into a fight to keep the mop moving in a straight line. Heat can also warp the tray over time, and a clip can break off its mount, and either fault leaves the tray sitting crooked on the head. A crooked tray opens a gap at one edge that lets steam vent sideways instead of reaching the carpet, so a pass over pile ends up doing almost nothing.
Coverage spans the PowerFresh line broadly, reaching the 1806 and 18067, the 1940 together with its 19402, 19405, 19408, 19409, 1940A, 1940F, 1940Q, 1940T and 1940W variants, the B0006, the 19401 and 19404, and the 1544 series.
Inspect the tray any time the mop starts to feel like more effort to push than it used to, well before a clip actually snaps off. Running a finger along where the tray meets the pad usually turns up early warping before it is visible by eye, and catching that early keeps a single hard-to-push pass from being mistaken for a fault in the mop's steam output.
