Part B015-3114 is the baseplate cover for the Fuller Brush FB-SM lightweight upright, the plate that closes off the underside of the nozzle around the brush roll. It also fits the Carpet Pro CP-ULW and ZM-400, and the same plate is used on the Simplicity F3600, F3700 and F3700C and the Riccar SupraLite RSL4 and RSL5C.
Because it is the part in contact with the floor, it takes the abuse: cracks from a stair drop, a warp from heat, broken tabs where it clips down. When the plate no longer sits flat, air leaks in from the sides of the nozzle instead of being pulled through it, and the machine picks up noticeably less carpet dirt while sounding exactly the same.
A new plate reseals the nozzle. It comes off with the usual clips or screws, and it is a good moment to clear the roller of wrapped hair.
