Carpet Pro Cord 30' 17X2 - ...

Product details
Built with a two-conductor, 17-gauge construction and running 30 feet end to end, part C283-0012 powers the Carpet Pro CP250 upright, also stamped with the CPU250 designation.
The same cord serves several nameplates, fitting the Titan T3200, the Fuller Brush FBEZM and FB-JFM, and the Riccar and Simplicity uprights sold as the S20EZM and S20PET. Damage builds from the outside working in: the outer jacket splits wherever the machine has rolled over it again and again, the strain-relief end stiffens and cracks with age, and individual copper strands snap one by one until the vacuum loses power the moment the cord gets nudged. Any length of cord with bare conductor showing should be pulled from service that same day, since that particular fault carries real shock and fire risk on a corded machine.
A cord that cuts out intermittently rather than failing outright is often worse to live with than one that has died completely, since it keeps getting pressed back into service between episodes. If wiggling the cord near either end makes the machine cut in and out, that is copper breaking strand by strand inside the jacket, and it will only get worse with continued flexing at that same point. Waiting for a full failure on a cord already showing that pattern is not worth the risk on a machine that runs for hours at a stretch in commercial use.
Unplug the machine before starting the swap, and fit the full replacement length rather than splicing what remains of the old cord.
