Product details

Part R4149 is a single caster wheel for the Rainbow canister dolly, sold individually; a complete dolly uses four.

Caster wheels take the brunt of being dragged and turned as the canister follows behind the hose, and they tend to fail one of two ways: the tread wears down until the machine judders across hard floors, or hair and thread wind tight around the stem until the wheel locks solid and drags along the floor instead of rolling freely. A wheel seized this way can also tip the canister over once it catches at an angle while being towed.

  • Part: R4149, single caster wheel
  • Fits: Rainbow D2, D2A, D3A, D3C, D4 (D4C), D4C SE, SE, SE Performance, E Series, E2 Type 12 (Silver, Gold), E2 Blue (Platinum/Silver), E2 Two Speed
  • Sold as: one wheel; four needed for a complete dolly

A dolly's four wheels rarely wear at the same rate, since the corner that takes the most turning tends to flatten first. If one wheel has gotten this bad, it is worth checking the other three before reassembling, since a dolly rolling on three good wheels and one flat one will tow slightly unevenly even after the repair.
