The foot pedal for Cen-Tec DX-series power nozzles, part 40405. It fits the CT14, CT16 and CT18DX nozzles as well as the CT20DXQD and CT20DXQS.
This is the pedal your foot lands on to work the nozzle's control, and it takes a direct hit every time. What kills it is grit rather than force: dust packs into the pivot until the pedal stiffens, then the plastic splits at the hinge and the pedal either jams down or flops loose. From that point the control is stuck wherever it was last set.
On most of these nozzles it is a housing-off job, so set aside a few minutes and a screwdriver rather than expecting a clip-in swap. Blow the pivot clear of grit before seating the new pedal so it moves freely from the first press.
