Part 102001 replaces the circuit board inside the Eureka/Beam CV-1801 and CV-1804 central vacuum power units.
A central vacuum depends on this board to read the wall switch and drive the motor accordingly, so board trouble shows up as electrical rather than mechanical symptoms: the unit refuses to start, shuts off partway through a job, or ignores the switch altogether. Checking the electronics before assuming a dead motor saves an unnecessary teardown on an older whole-home system.

Disconnect the unit from power before opening the housing, and match the part number to your existing board before ordering.
Since this board is specific to the CV-1801 and CV-1804, avoid substituting one pulled from a different Eureka or Beam unit even if the connectors appear to match; a mismatched board can fail to read the switch correctly even when it powers up. A worn or corroded low-voltage wire at the wall switch can also produce the same symptoms as a failed board, so a quick visual check of that connection before ordering can rule out a much simpler fix.
