Part A434-2714C is the commercial specification strain relief used on ULW platform upright vacuums, molded in black. The strain relief is the collar where the power cord enters the machine body. It clamps the cord jacket so that every yank on the cable is absorbed by the housing rather than by the conductors and terminal connections inside.

It is a small component with an outsized failure mode. Once it cracks or loses its grip, the cord begins to flex right at the entry point, the copper inside work-hardens, and the machine develops an intermittent, or worse, a bare conductor rubbing against a metal edge. On commercial uprights, where the cord gets pulled out of sockets across an entire route every night, replacing this part is routine maintenance rather than a rare repair.
