SEBO Retaining Clip for the...

Product details
Small retaining clips do unglamorous work and are almost never the reason anyone opens a machine, yet they are frequently the reason it has to be opened twice. SEBO 3071 is the clip that holds mating components together inside the Duo brush machine, drawn at position 64 on the Duo parts diagram between the pulley 3018 at 63 and the end plate 3040 at 65. One clip is supplied, not a kit.
Vibration and years of handling take the spring out of a moulded clip. It relaxes first, so it still looks correct but no longer pulls the joint tight, and then it splits at the point where it flexes. Once that happens, whatever it was holding gains a small amount of freedom to shift, rattle or work loose while the machine is running, and the noise that results is usually blamed on something larger further along the drive. A factory clip puts positive tension back into the joint, and because it snaps into its original location it normally goes in without tools. Anyone already inside the drive group for a belt, a bearing block or the end plate should have a spare clip to hand, since an old one that has been prised off rarely goes back with quite the same grip it had before.
