Part B232-0200 is the spring that retains the crevice tool on 7000 and 8000 series uprights — the Simplicity 7000 and Riccar 8000 platforms, which share a great deal of hardware between them. It applies the tension that keeps the tool from sliding out of its holder while the machine is in use, and it only applies to models that store their tools on board.
A spring that has lost its set will let the tool creep loose on the first stairway, and springs are far easier to find than the tool they lost. Other shared 7000 and 8000 series parts stocked here include the handle retainer B431-1700 and the charcoal handle end cap B431-1031.
