Bissell's deep injection tool, part 2037412, is a handheld attachment that connects to a compatible carpet cleaner's hose so a stain can be worked by hand rather than only passed over with the main cleaning head.
Spot tools like this exist because a stain that has soaked into the pad and backing of the carpet needs solution driven down to where it sits, then pulled back out, more directly than a wide upright pass manages. Working a stain by hand also lets you spend extra time on one spot without running the whole machine back and forth over carpet that is already clean.
It fits the Bissell ProHeat Pro-Tech Upright 7920, the ProHeat ClearView Upright 1699 series, and the ProHeat CleanView Upright 7901 and 8905 machines.
Test the tool on a small hidden patch of carpet before treating a visible stain if you have not used it on your machine before, since it is easier to see how much solution the tool puts down on a patch nobody looks at than on the stain itself. Rinse the tool after use rather than letting cleaning solution dry inside it, since dried residue narrows the passage the same way it does in the machine's main nozzle and gradually reduces how much solution the tool actually delivers to a stain.
