Product details

This 7-gallon dirt bin, part 120313, replaces the collection bin on the Beam 297SP central vacuum power unit. It is the container that hangs below the motor and holds everything the system pulls in from every inlet in the house.

A cracked, warped, or poorly sealed bin is a whole-house problem on a central vacuum, since the seal between the bin and the power unit is part of what lets the system hold suction at all. Once that seal is compromised, suction drops at every inlet, not just the one in use, and fine debris can work its way up toward the motor rather than staying where it belongs.

Bins usually fail one of two ways: a crack or split in the plastic from age or an impact, or a rim surface that no longer seats tight enough to hold a seal no matter how carefully it is latched. Either problem tends to show up gradually, as suction that fades a little more each week rather than a sudden drop, which is why the bin is often overlooked until the leak is obvious.

  • Part: 120313 dirt bin, 7-gallon capacity
  • Fits: Beam 297SP central vacuum
  • Function: collection bin that seals against the power unit
  • Tip: confirm your power unit model before ordering, since Beam offers bins in more than one capacity, and inspect the rim for chips before installing

Installing a sound replacement bin restores the airtight seal the whole system depends on, with no change to the existing installation.
