Genuine foam filter for the Dirt Devil Easy Lite, part 1PY1106000, fitting the UD20005 and UD20010. It measures roughly 2-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches, a small square pad that sits ahead of the motor.

Foam is there to catch the grit that gets past the main filtration, and it is a consumable. After a year or two of compression it thins, the edges crumble and small tears open at the corners. A torn pad is worse than a dirty one, because everything it was supposed to stop now goes straight to the motor, and motor damage is what ends these machines.

A pad that has gone gray, lost its spring or split at a corner has done its work. Fitting the new one takes seconds with the machine unplugged.
