Release lever for the bag door on Riccar and Simplicity clean air uprights, covering the R20P, R20UP, R20D and R20S models. Part D480-2300 is the lever you press to open the compartment; it pivots against the catch and springs back to hold the cover closed while the machine runs.

A lever that has gone soft, snapped at its pivot, or lost its return action leaves the cover either flapping loose or jammed shut. Bag changes happen more often than most owners expect, which is why this ends up a wear item on machines a few seasons old. Installation needs only basic hand tools once the cover is off. The matching catch for M700, S20 and R20 machines is D480-3200.
