Product details

HS202142 is the long sweep 22.5 degree elbow for Hide-A-Hose pipe runs, in two inch. A gentle angle like this one nudges a run slightly off straight without putting in the sort of turn that would choke airflow.

Radius matters more on a Hide-A-Hose system than on a conventional central vacuum, because the hose itself travels through the tubing rather than only the air. Hide-A-Hose specifies larger diameter pipe and larger radius fittings for exactly that reason. A short radius turn that a conventional system would tolerate can catch a hose partway through a retraction and leave it stranded inside the wall.

This elbow comes with adapters that let two inch Schedule 40 plumbing PVC join to two inch Schedule 20 vacuum PVC, which is the connection that trips up installers working around pipe already in the building. Work out which schedule sits on each side before anything is cut.

Dry-fit the elbow against the cut pipe ends before cement is applied. A fitting that is slightly off will look close enough to work right up until the cement is curing around a loose joint, and a leaking joint inside a wall is far harder to reach than one on the bench.
