Product details

Part HS202141 is a wide-radius 45 degree sweep fitting sized to 2 inch central vacuum pipe. Installed in a Hide-A-Hose system, this elbow gives a retractable hose a gentler path through a direction change than a sharp corner would allow, so nothing snags partway through the wall run.

Airflow drops off at any bend, and it drops sharply at a tight one. That is why installers reach for the long sweep pattern wherever the framing leaves room for it, and why a pair of 45s often stands in for a single abrupt right-angle turn: each fitting asks less of the air stream, and less of the hose travelling through it. Since the socket matches standard pipe dimensions, this elbow also drops into any central vacuum job running 2 inch line, well beyond Hide-A-Hose installations alone.

Apply cement to the pipe's outer surface only. Any adhesive that squeezes up into the fitting's interior sets into a raised lip, and that lip is exactly where a hose snags on the way back in and where debris builds up on every pass after that. Dry-fit the elbow against its pipe run first, since fixing a misaligned joint after the cement cures is far harder than getting it square from the start. Marking the alignment on both pieces while they are still dry lets the fitting go home in one motion once cement is on.

  • Part: HS202141
  • Angle: 45 degrees, long sweep pattern
  • Fits: Hide-A-Hose systems and any central vacuum installation using 2 inch pipe
  • Install note: apply cement to the pipe exterior, never inside the fitting socket
