Product details

Strip away the hardware and the canopy is simply the outer shroud on a PU3900C power unit, the piece that hides the internals and gives the unit its finished look in the garage, basement, or utility closet where it hangs. It is cosmetic and protective rather than structural, sitting over the metal upper body rather than sealing vacuum pressure itself.

Sized at 14 inches for the PU3900C power unit. A cracked canopy or one broken at the mounting tabs still leaves the unit functional, but it exposes the internals to dust and impact in a utility space where the unit often takes the occasional bump from stored items nearby.

  • Fits: Electrolux PU3900C power unit
  • Size: 14 inch canopy
  • Color: Black
  • Function: Cosmetic and protective outer cover over the power unit body

Check the mounting tabs on the old canopy before ordering to confirm the failure is cosmetic rather than a sign of a deeper problem. A canopy that cracked from a direct impact is a straightforward swap, while one that failed at the tabs from years of routine handling is worth pairing with a look at the upper body underneath, in case the same flexing stressed the shell it sits on.

Because the canopy is not part of the vacuum seal path, a cracked one will not cost you suction, but a broken mounting tab that lets it hang loose or rattle is worth fixing before it works its way further loose and falls off entirely. A loose canopy also invites dust and moisture into the utility space around the motor over time, which is reason enough to replace it even on a unit that otherwise runs fine. Listed under SKU 115079.
