This is the genuine Electrolux metal upper body, also called the cylinder, for the Electrolux SC380B central vacuum power unit. It is the main structural housing that holds the motor, lid, and intake assembly together and channels airflow through the unit. Made of formed metal, it provides the rigid, sealed enclosure the SC380B relies on to develop and hold suction.
A cracked, dented, corroded, or air-leaking upper body cannot maintain a vacuum seal, which shows up as weak suction at the wall inlets. Replacing the cylinder restores the original structural integrity and sealing surface of the machine.
