Part 624112 is the complete base assembly for the Sanitaire SC5713B and SC5713D commercial upright, the chassis section the rest of the machine bolts onto. It arrives built up rather than bare: the front and rear wheels come already mounted, and the handle release pedal is fitted and working, so one part replaces the machine's entire rolling foundation.
A commercial upright's base leads a rough life. It gets bumped down stair edges, rolled across door saddles, and steered into furniture legs at walking pace, and over enough shifts that abuse cracks the housing, wears the wheel mounts loose, or leaves the handle release pedal too sloppy to latch, so the handle no longer locks upright or drops cleanly into its working angle. Once two or three of those faults stack up on one machine, chasing them with individual wheels and pedal parts costs more in labor than the assembled base does in one swap.
Fitting the complete base resets all of it at once: fresh wheels at both ends, a pedal that latches with a positive click, and a housing with every mounting point back at original spec. The motor, hood and handle transfer across from the old base, so note fastener positions and wiring runs as the machine comes apart, and reassembly follows the same order in reverse.
Confirm the model number on the rating plate reads SC5713B or SC5713D before ordering. This base is also catalogued under the older SC-5713A family name, and Sanitaire built several commercial uprights on bases that look alike without sharing mounting points, so the model match matters more than the visual one.
