Part 72126C rebuilds the rear panel on the Sanitaire and Eureka SC5745B, SC5845B and SC5845D commercial uprights. Molded in heavy plastic, this piece closes over the motor compartment and internal wiring, and several fastener bosses toward the front of the panel accept the screws that hold the rest of the body together, so it carries real structural load beyond simply looking finished.
On a machine that gets pushed, dragged and occasionally dropped down a flight of stairs on a commercial route, this panel tends to give way first along its corners and around the small raised columns, or bosses, that the fasteners thread into. Once one of those bosses splits, the screw stops holding torque and the whole panel starts to flex and rattle instead of sitting rigid against the frame. A shell that no longer pulls tight also breaks the sealed air path the motor depends on, and it lets grit reach wiring that was never designed to sit exposed.
Confirmed fitment covers the SC5745B, SC5845B and SC5845D under both Sanitaire and Eureka badging, since the two names share the same commercial tooling. Disconnect the machine from power before starting the swap, and take a picture of how the wiring loops through the old panel before pulling it free, since the replacement piece needs those same wire runs to close up correctly.
A loose housing usually announces itself as a rattle that gets worse over the course of a shift rather than as a sudden failure, and it is easy to dismiss until a corner of the shell actually breaks free near the wheel well. Checking the housing for play whenever the machine sounds louder than usual catches the problem before it costs you a whole route.
